Russia Hopes Iran-US Talks Will Foster Regional Stability, Cites Shifting US Focus

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova announced on Wednesday that the United States’ role in the Ukraine issue has been altered by developments related to Iran, resulting in Washington dedicating less attention to resolving that crisis.
Zakharova elaborated that the resumption of attacks between the United States and Iran, which could potentially lead to widespread conflict in the Persian Gulf region, is a cause for concern. She emphasized that attacks targeting civilian infrastructure are unacceptable. Russia urged all parties involved to refrain from actions that could escalate tensions and undermine efforts to de-escalate the situation surrounding Iran.
Furthermore, Maria Zakharova added that Moscow hopes the ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran will culminate in sustainable and long-term stability in the Middle East (West Asia). Russia stands ready to actively contribute to the search for political and diplomatic solutions to the issues surrounding Iran.
