Russia Says US Actions Contradict Official Statements on Bilateral Cooperation

Moscow has stated that Washington’s readiness to impose new sanctions against Russia is inconsistent with American officials’ remarks on the prospects for bilateral cooperation. Russia also expressed hope for the next ‘3+3’ format meeting on the South Caucasus to be held in Yerevan or Baku.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia‘s Deputy Foreign Minister, Mikhail Galuzin, stated on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum that Washington’s preparedness to impose new sanctions against Russia contradicts statements made by American officials regarding the outlook for bilateral cooperation. Galuzin added that Russia would evaluate any specific proposals from European countries for negotiations concerning Ukraine. Regarding talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the Russian official expressed hope that the next foreign ministers’ meeting within the ‘3+3’ format, focusing on the South Caucasus region, would take place in Yerevan or Baku, with ongoing contacts in this regard.
