Russia Claims Downing 500 Ukrainian Drones in One Day Amid Ongoing Conflict

Russia’s Ministry of Defense announced Sunday that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 500 Ukrainian drones within a 24-hour period, alongside other military assets, as the conflict with Ukraine continues unabated.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported on Sunday that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 11 guided aerial bombs, one HIMARS multiple rocket launcher, and 500 drones over the past day.

The ministry’s statement indicated that targets struck by Russian forces included boats, fuel depots, transportation and energy infrastructure facilities used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as drone launch sites.

Despite numerous negotiations and temporary ceasefires, the war between Ukraine and Russia persists. The failure of peace talks and the continuation of the war are considered a significant setback for United States President Donald Trump, who had pledged to end the conflict early in his presidency.
