Kremlin Denies Reports of Putin Refusing Meeting with CIA Director

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov has refuted claims circulating in Western media suggesting that Russian President Vladimir Putin refused to meet with CIA Director John Ratcliffe. Ushakov stated that there was fundamentally no planned meeting between Putin and Ratcliffe.

He explained that the CIA Director did engage with high-ranking officials from Russia’s intelligence agencies during his trip to Moscow. Ushakov emphasized that the discussions held between the parties were confidential and entirely official, precluding any public disclosure of their content.

Ratcliffe visited Moscow on August 25th. Earlier, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov had indicated that the visit was part of ongoing communication channels between the Russian and American intelligence services. Sergey Naryshkin, the Director of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service, also confirmed that he had met with the CIA Director during this visit.
