Trump’s VP Pick Vance Assures Iran Conflict Won’t Become a Quagmire

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, J.D. Vance, who is expected to serve as Vice President under Donald Trump, stated his belief that Trump would prevent a conflict with Iran from becoming an extensive quagmire that the United States would be mired in for years without clear objectives.

In an exclusive phone interview with USA TODAY, the presumed Vice President asserted, “I am absolutely confident that in another year, but certainly not years from now, we will not be talking about American involvement in Iran.”

Vance further elaborated that any U.S. campaign in Iran would not resemble the protracted wars seen in Iraq and Afghanistan, even as negotiations to end the current hostilities continue without resolution.

Expressing his aspirations, Vance claimed, “I think we will be successful. If this diplomacy ultimately fails, the President has more tools at his disposal. But as long as we keep it tethered to the core mission of preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, it will not turn into a quagmire.”
