Trump Announces Elimination of Drug Cartel Leader with Venezuelan Cooperation

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump announced on the Truth Social platform that under his orders and in coordination with Venezuelan officials, American forces succeeded in eliminating the leader of the organization known as “Tren de Aragua.” Trump stated, “At my command and in coordination with Venezuelan officials, our forces successfully eliminated the leader of the Tren de Aragua terrorist organization.” He further boasted, “The terrorists of Tren de Aragua will no longer have a safe haven in Venezuela or anywhere else. Under my leadership, we will find these murderers and drug lords anytime, anywhere, and send them to the depths of hell they deserve.” Trump did not provide further details regarding the timing, location, or execution of the operation. Tren de Aragua is a Venezuelan criminal gang that originated from a prison in the Aragua state of Venezuela. Its leader, Hector Guerrero Flores, known as “Nino Guerrero,” transformed this prison gang into a transnational criminal organization that controlled gold mines, drug trafficking routes, and border crossings between Venezuela and Colombia. The U.S. Department of State designated this gang as a foreign terrorist organization in February 2025. Fox News had previously reported that the gang has thousands of members and poses a threat to public safety across the Western Hemisphere.
