US Expert: Iran’s Ballistic Missiles Are Undetectable and Pose Significant Threat

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Theodore Postol, a former advisor to the Chief of Naval Operations at the Pentagon and a professor at MIT, has acknowledged the advancement of Iran‘s military capabilities. He stated that Iran’s ballistic missiles have become more precise and destructive than previously expected.
Postol observed that Iran’s ballistic missiles have exceptionally surpassed initial expectations and the capabilities seen during the June 2025 conflict. He noted that these missiles inflict significant damage on targets of high strategic value to Israel.
Intercepting Iran’s Ballistic Missiles is Impossible
In a television interview, Postol admitted to underestimating the potential damage to Tel Aviv from Tehran. He explained that Tehran has deployed a new generation of more advanced and effective missiles that are beyond interception capabilities.
Postol emphasized that these missiles are “undetectable” and carry larger, more destructive warheads. He pointed out that Iran possesses a substantial arsenal of these missiles, which are launched with high accuracy toward their intended targets, allowing for concentrated impact.
The American expert described the Israeli air defense systems’ attempts to counter Iran’s ballistic missiles as “absurd,” asserting that these systems possess virtually no significant capability against Iranian missiles.
Tel Aviv is the Biggest Nuclear Threat in the Middle East
The US expert further highlighted that the Israeli regime represents the greatest nuclear threat in the Middle East. He also blamed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the current predicament in Lebanon, which has placed the Israeli military in a difficult situation.
He added that the Israeli military is facing a highly critical situation and is on the verge of collapse due to attrition in the Lebanese quagmire. Its military commanders intend to inform Netanyahu that they are in a critical impasse, suffering heavy casualties, and are unable to take further action.
