Russian Senator: War Against Iran Would Be One of America’s Most Futile Historical Conflicts

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a Russian senator and member of the Federal Assembly’s Committee on Constitutional Law, Alexey Pushkov, has stated that a war against Iran would become one of the most futile conflicts in American history. His remarks were reported by RT, citing data published by the Mehr News Agency.
Pushkov elaborated, expressing his belief that a war with Iran would secure a prominent place among America’s most futile wars throughout its history. He suggested that U.S. President Donald Trump would likely portray any military action against Iran as a complete victory for himself.
The primary stated reason for a potential conflict, according to Pushkov, would be to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. However, he pointed out that Tehran had already made such a commitment 11 years prior during the nuclear deal negotiated with the Obama administration, from which Trump later withdrew.
Pushkov further commented that Iran has maintained its uranium reserves, and the ruling system within the country has not changed. He emphasized that Iran’s missile capabilities remain intact, and its regional influence has not been weakened, contrary to the strong desires of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.
