Bloomberg Report Details Potential Tehran-Washington Understanding

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Bloomberg, in a report referencing a draft memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Washington, stated that Iran and the United States, along with their allies, would declare an immediate and final end to hostilities on all fronts. The document stipulates that both parties will commit to refraining from any hostile actions or threats and will aim to finalize negotiations for a definitive agreement within a maximum of 60 days, with the possibility of extending this period.
Bloomberg also reported that the United States would lift the maritime blockade against Iran immediately upon the signing of the memorandum of understanding and would commit to withdrawing its forces within 30 days of the final agreement’s date. In return, Iran would commit to resuming vessel movements within 30 days, considering the necessity of removing obstacles.
Furthermore, Washington has indicated its intention to participate in Iran’s economic reconstruction and development in cooperation with its regional partners. The report added that the United States would also commit to lifting sanctions against Iran according to an agreed-upon timeline. In response, Iran has reiterated its stance that it will never pursue the production of nuclear weapons.
Bloomberg continued by noting that Tehran and Washington would consult on the fate of enriched materials and other nuclear issues within the framework of the final agreement. Both sides have emphasized maintaining the current status quo until a final agreement is reached. According to Bloomberg, another section of the memorandum of understanding indicates that Iran will preserve its current nuclear program without the imposition of new sanctions by the United States or the reinforcement of its forces.
The report further states that Washington will exempt Iranian oil and related banking services from sanctions and will unfreeze Iran’s blocked assets and properties. Bloomberg noted that after receiving guarantees regarding the implementation of several clauses of the agreement, the two countries would commence negotiations for the final agreement, which would ultimately be ratified with a binding decision by the United Nations Security Council.
