According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has emphasized that the rising tensions between Moscow and NATO carry extremely dangerous implications for global security and stability. In an article titled “Ukraine, Europe, and Global Security,” partially published by Russia’s TASS news agency, Lavrov stated that the current situation poses serious threats to international security. He further cautioned that the ongoing confrontational path could result in catastrophic outcomes, including the possibility of nuclear weapon usage. Lavrov observed that this intensified confrontation is occurring amid deepening geopolitical rifts between major powers, with some indicators recalling the most perilous periods of the Cold War. In separate remarks, he accused some European countries of using discussions with Moscow as a cover to advance their geopolitical objectives, framing these actions as part of an ongoing eastward expansion toward Russia’s borders.
