Iran-US Talks in Switzerland Canceled

Scheduled talks between Iran and the United States set to take place today in Switzerland will not proceed, according to a statement from the Swiss Foreign Ministry. This cancellation follows reports that U.S. Vice President JD Vance has postponed his planned visit to meet Iranian negotiators.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Reuters, citing the Swiss Foreign Ministry, reported that the anticipated negotiations between Iran and the United States, originally slated for today, Friday, at the Bürgenstock Resort in central Switzerland, have been canceled.

The Swiss Foreign Ministry’s statement confirmed that the discussions planned between the United States and Iran at the mountainous Bürgenstock Resort were no longer moving forward as scheduled.

This announcement came shortly after the White House Press Secretary stated the previous night that U.S. Vice President JD Vance had canceled his planned trip to meet with Iranian negotiators in Switzerland on Friday. The purpose of the canceled visit was to initiate discussions regarding the implementation of an agreement reached between Tehran and Washington to end the conflict.
