Afghan Interim Government Strikes ISIS Positions in Pakistan Border Regions

The Afghan interim government announced it conducted airstrikes against Islamic State (ISIS) positions located in Pakistan’s border areas, targeting facilities allegedly used for coordinating attacks against Afghanistan.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, The Afghan interim government’s Ministry of Defense announced on Friday that it launched airstrikes the previous night against centers affiliated with the terrorist group ISIS in Pakistan’s border regions. The operations were carried out in the “Gulistan” area of Balochistan province and “Qamberkhel” in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

A statement from the Ministry of Defense indicated that these targeted locations were reportedly utilized for planning, organizing, and coordinating attacks against Afghanistan. The ministry added that pre-determined targets belonging to ISIS elements were struck, inflicting damage on the terrorist group.

The Ministry of Defense of the Afghan interim government further stated that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan closely monitors any threat to the country’s security and stability. It warned that if such threats continue, appropriate and proportionate measures will be taken.
