Albanian Protests Against Trump Family Project Enter 20th Day

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, thousands of Albanians have taken to the streets for the twentieth consecutive day to express their anger and opposition to a recreational project associated with the Trump family. Reports indicate that thousands gathered in the capital city of Tirana yesterday, chanting “Albania is not for sale” and calling for the prime minister’s resignation. Construction work on certain parts of the project has reportedly been suspended following these demonstrations.
The project encompasses the development of hotel complexes and tourism facilities on the uninhabited island of Sazan, as well as in the Zvërnec and Vlorë–Nartë areas in southern Albania. Some of these locations are situated within coastal and protected zones.
Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner had previously announced their intention to establish a private island of approximately 1,400 hectares in the Mediterranean Sea. Ivanka Trump stated that this ambitious undertaking would be executed in collaboration with international architects.
The plan involves transforming Sazan Island, formerly a military site near the Albanian coast, into the private island of the Trump family, with Kushner’s investment company set to manage the project.
