US Central Command Claims Increased Vessel Traffic in Strait of Hormuz; Iran Denies

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Saturday that vessel traffic in the Strait of Hormuz has increased, asserting its commitment to supporting freedom of navigation. CENTCOM claimed that 55 ships carrying over 17 million barrels of oil transited the strait en route to global markets. The command stated its forces are prepared to ensure all aspects of an agreement with Iran are observed.
This assertion by the U.S. military’s regional command comes shortly after the public relations department of the IRGC Navy announced that the Strait of Hormuz is closed to all vessels. This closure, according to the IRGC Navy, is a response to the actions of the Israeli regime in Lebanon and the United States’ violation of commitments to establish a ceasefire. The IRGC Navy emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz is closed and warned vessels not to approach the strait, as their security would be jeopardized.
