Iranian Parliamentary Speaker Meets with Sultan of Oman to Discuss Regional Issues and US Talks
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman received Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Iran, at Al-Barakah Palace. Dr. Ghalibaf was accompanied by Dr. Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, during his visit to Oman.
During the meeting, the Iranian delegation conveyed the greetings of Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, to the Sultan of Oman, expressing best wishes for His Majesty and the Omani nation for continued progress and prosperity. The Iranian side also expressed gratitude, on behalf of the leadership, government, and people of Iran, for the wise approach of the Sultanate of Oman and the constructive role of the country, under the leadership of Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, in supporting dialogue, reducing tensions, and strengthening opportunities for peace and stability in the region.
Conversely, the Sultan of Oman requested Dr. Ghalibaf to convey his greetings and regards to Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He expressed his sincere wishes for the leadership and people of Iran for continued security, stability, and welfare.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman announced that the latest developments concerning the Iran-US negotiations were reviewed during the meeting. Sultan of Oman listened to the Iranian delegation’s explanations regarding the progress and various dimensions of these talks. He expressed his support for these dialogues and wished for their success and fruitful outcomes, paving the way for a peaceful and final resolution to all contentious issues. This includes, in particular, the resumption and facilitation of maritime traffic and the guarantee of shipping safety in the Strait of Hormuz, the nuclear issue, and other related matters and challenges.
