US VP Vance Claims Direct Communication Channel Established with Iran

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance has claimed that his country established a direct communication channel with Iran during negotiations in Switzerland. He further asserted that Tehran agreed to a more rigorous inspection mechanism than stipulated in the original nuclear agreement. Vance made these claims in an interview with an English media outlet, as reported by RT, citing data published by Mehr News Agency.
Vance elaborated on his assertions, stating, “One of the things we wanted to achieve was to have a communication channel with the Iranian side to de-escalate conflict, and we did that. They said, ‘Okay, we will send someone from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to Doha to meet with someone from CENTCOM, and through this, we will resolve many of these disputes!'”
He added that the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the United States and Iran contains provisions that fundamentally differ from the previous nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Washington believes Iran is seeking a fundamental shift in its relations with the U.S. and the world.
“Iranian officials are speaking very differently than in the past, but it remains unclear whether the negotiations will lead to a final agreement,” Vance said. He also noted that Arab nations in the region are currently engaged in unprecedented negotiations with Iran, including discussions involving the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Vance further specified that the United Arab Emirates, which has provided significant support for Israel among the Arab states of the Persian Gulf, is holding unprecedented dialogues with Iran, including with the IRGC, concerning various economic incentives.
