US Energy Secretary Comments on Iran Sanctions Relief

U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm stated that the lifting of sanctions related to Iranian oil would enable Tehran to sell its crude on international markets and receive U.S. dollars, with frozen assets to be released under strict oversight.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm discussed the potential implications of sanctions relief on Iran’s oil sector in an interview with CNBC.

Granholm explained that the revocation of sanctions specifically concerning Iranian oil would permit the country to export its crude to various global markets and subsequently receive U.S. dollars for these transactions.

She further elaborated that any Iranian funds currently held in a blocked status, which are slated for release, would be subjected to stringent monitoring mechanisms. This oversight is intended to scrutinize the pathways through which these funds are expended.
