IAEA Chief Grossi: No Nuclear Material Transferred from Iran Since Last Inspection

Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), stated that no Iranian nuclear materials have been transferred since the agency’s last inspection in 2025, while emphasizing the need for continued technical cooperation and access to nuclear sites.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), has stated that no Iranian nuclear materials have been transferred since the agency’s last inspection in 2025. Grossi indicated that the IAEA has a memorandum of understanding for overseeing inspections of Iran’s nuclear facilities and expressed readiness to continue its technical activities in the country.

Grossi explained that details regarding the IAEA’s activities in Iran and the composition of the special coordination committee for the inspection process will be determined during negotiations between Iran and the United States. Despite ongoing suspicions of politicization in his professional activities, Grossi expressed hope that IAEA experts would soon be granted access to Iran’s nuclear sites, mentioning that the dilution of Iran’s highly enriched uranium is among the options being considered for managing the country’s uranium reserves.

The IAEA chief asserted his belief that no Iranian nuclear materials have been transferred since the agency’s last inspection in 2025, but stressed the necessity of definitive confirmation. He emphasized the agency’s need for access to Iran’s nuclear facilities to ascertain the quantities of enriched uranium present.

While Iranian officials have consistently affirmed that any transfer of enriched uranium out of Iran is out of the question, Grossi claimed that the possibility of transferring enriched uranium from Iran to another country would be determined by the memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran.

Grossi, who has not condemned the aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime against the nuclear facilities of Iran, a member state of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), also noted Iran’s declarations of not pursuing nuclear weapons. However, he insisted that IAEA experts must be allowed to verify this claim through on-site inspections.
