Massive Mourning Processions Mark Ashura in Karbala
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the city of Karbala in Iraq witnessed massive gatherings for the Arbaeen pilgrimage. Thousands of mourners, organized into Tawareej processions, engaged in fervent mourning rituals on the occasion of Ashura, commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad.
The solemn event saw large crowds participating in deeply emotional ceremonies, reflecting the profound significance of Ashura in Shia Islam. The Tawareej processions, a traditional element of Arbaeen commemorations, are known for their scale and intensity, drawing pilgrims from across Iraq and beyond.
