Japan Issues Evacuation Orders for Over 1 Million Amidst Severe Tropical Storm Flooding

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, severe rainfall stemming from the tropical storms Mikhail and Higos has triggered extensive flooding across Japan, leaving considerable damage in parts of the country’s west and southwest. Japanese authorities have consequently ordered the evacuation of over 1 million individuals from at-risk areas.
Reports indicate that the Kamo River has overflowed with mud and floodwaters, causing substantial damage to more than 30 homes in the Nara and Hiroshima prefectures. The storms have also led to widespread disruptions in Japan’s transportation sector, with over 100 flights to and from Okinawa and Kagoshima being canceled by domestic airlines. The operation of several high-speed rail lines has been halted, and major roadways have been closed.
