Ukrainian MiG-29 Fighter Jet Crashes in Poltava Region; Pilot Ejects Safely

A Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jet crashed in the Poltava region during a combat mission, with the pilot successfully ejecting and being transported to a medical facility.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jet has crashed in the Poltava region, as reported by RBC Ukraine citing Mehr News Agency.

The incident occurred after communication was lost with the MiG-29, which was reportedly engaged in a combat mission over Poltava. The pilot is stated to have successfully ejected from the aircraft.

Ukraine’s Air Force confirmed the aircraft’s crash, adding that the pilot made contact with search and rescue teams and was promptly taken to a medical center for examination and care. The specific causes and circumstances surrounding this aerial incident are currently under investigation.

This event follows a previous incident on June 16, where another Ukrainian aircraft, a Su-24M bomber, crashed in the Khmelnytskyi region. The pilot and navigator of that bomber did not survive the crash.
