US and Iran Reportedly Agree to Halt Retaliatory Strikes, Hold Talks

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Axios, citing a US official, alleges that Iran and the United States have reached an agreement to halt retaliatory strikes and will hold a meeting this week. The US official claimed that Iran and the United States will convene in Doha next Tuesday to resolve disputes concerning the Strait of Hormuz. Previously, The New York Times, quoting a high-ranking US official, reported that technical discussions with Iran regarding the implementation of a memorandum of understanding are still scheduled for the coming days. This US official, referring to recent exchanges of fire between Iran and the United States, asserted that no talks have been canceled and communication channels remain open. This development follows reports from The Wall Street Journal earlier today, which alleged the cancellation of this week’s negotiations in Switzerland.
