U.S. Envoy Steve Whitcraft Heads to Doha for Iran Talks

Special Envoy Steve Whitcraft, representing President Donald Trump, is en route to Doha as the U.S. acknowledges potential difficulties in negotiations with Iran, according to U.S. officials and media reports.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, CNN, citing several U.S. officials, reported that Steve Whitcraft, Special Envoy for President Donald Trump, is currently traveling to Doha.

Simultaneously, MS Now, quoting sources it described as informed, announced that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio claimed in a congressional briefing that the Trump administration does not believe negotiations with Iran will be easy.

According to these sources, Rubio also informed lawmakers that there is a possibility of negotiations failing, but Washington still wishes to give diplomacy a chance.

Politico, also citing its sources, reported that Rubio and Whitcraft asserted to members of Congress that Iran has not yet received any financial resources based on the “understanding agreement” negotiations.

The report also indicated that Whitcraft informed lawmakers that the technical team responsible for the nuclear negotiations has departed Switzerland for Qatar.

Politico further reported, quoting two sources, that Rubio and Whitcraft emphasized the necessity of reaching an agreement that prevents Iran from maintaining highly enriched uranium.

Meanwhile, Fox News quoted a U.S. official stating that technical discussions regarding the terms of the understanding agreement with Iran will continue this week. Whitcraft and Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, will also pursue regional consultations on various aspects of this understanding.
