Hamas Delegation in Cairo for Ceasefire Talks, Focus on Gaza Reconstruction and Israeli Commitments

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem announced that a delegation from the movement has traveled to Cairo to complete consultations and discussions regarding a ceasefire agreement. He added that Hamas and Palestinian groups have presented plans and approaches for implementing the ceasefire that have been welcomed by mediators.

Taher El-Nono, political advisor to the head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, stated that a delegation from the movement, led by Zaher Jabarin, arrived in Cairo this morning. El-Nono indicated that this delegation is scheduled to meet with Egyptian officials and mediators to conclude the process of implementing the ceasefire agreement.

He emphasized that stopping the escalating violations by the Israeli regime in the Gaza Strip, daily crimes, assassinations, and ensuring the regime’s commitment to the full entry of Gaza’s needs, including materials and equipment for the reconstruction of hospitals, bakeries, and infrastructure, are at the top of the delegation’s agenda. El-Nono further noted that this round of talks will also involve finalizing the roadmap prepared by Mladenov with the cooperation of mediators for the second phase of the agreement, the entry of an administrative committee and international protection forces, and ultimately the complete withdrawal of the Israeli regime from the entire Gaza Strip.

He stressed that Hamas is serious about achieving an agreement that ends the suffering of the Palestinian people, halts the occupation forces’ crimes, and makes progress toward restoring the political rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them freedom and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
