Iraq’s Diyala Province Declares Holidays for Martyr Leader’s Funeral

Diyala province in Iraq has announced Wednesday and Thursday as public holidays to allow residents to participate in the funeral procession for Iran’s martyr leader, a significant event expected to draw large crowds.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Diyala province will observe a public holiday on Wednesday and Thursday of this week to facilitate the participation of its residents in the funeral ceremony for Iran’s martyr leader. This decision was announced by the governor of Diyala, Adnan Mohammed Abbas Al-Shammari.

The funeral procession for the revered martyr leader of the Islamic Revolution is anticipated to be one of the largest public gatherings of the year in Iraq, with broad participation expected from various segments of society and pilgrims from Islamic countries. The ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday.

The Iraqi Ministry of Transport has mobilized hundreds of buses and several trains to assist in transporting attendees from Baghdad and the southern provinces to Najaf and Karbala, aiming to ensure smooth logistics for the expected influx of mourners.

In solidarity with the occasion, the provinces of Najaf, Babil, Dhi Qar, Basra, Wasit, and Maysan have also declared Wednesday a public holiday, encouraging maximum citizen participation in the solemn event.
