Saudi-flagged Oil Tanker Damaged Near Oman, Strait of Hormuz

A Saudi Arabian-flagged oil tanker carrying crude oil sustained damage near Oman and the Strait of Hormuz, according to maritime security sources, following a similar incident involving a Qatari LNG tanker in the same vicinity.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a Saudi Arabian-flagged oil tanker carrying crude oil has been damaged in waters near Oman and the Strait of Hormuz, maritime security sources reported. This incident follows the targeting of a Qatari liquefied natural gas tanker in the same region.

Sources indicated that an explosion occurred, with the cause yet to be determined. It is suspected that the damaged vessel is the massive oil tanker VdTian. Vessel tracking data from MarineTraffic shows the tanker’s last registered position in the Persian Gulf on July 3.

No official statements have been released by Saudi authorities regarding the incident.
