Trump to Decide on F-35 Sales to Turkey, Expresses Disappointment with NATO

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump claimed on Monday that the military capabilities of Iran have been destroyed. Speaking in an effort to calm the charged atmosphere in his country, which he attributed to the consequences of his costly incursion into Iranian territory, Trump asserted that Iran would not acquire nuclear weapons, without referencing Tehran’s peaceful nuclear program.

The U.S. President also stated that Turkey did not enter into war with Iran and does not wish to see Iran attain nuclear weapons. He added that a decision would be made concerning the sale of F-35 fighter jets to Turkey, noting an improvement in relations with Ankara. Trump expressed profound disappointment with NATO, explaining his attendance at the recent NATO summit was solely due to its location in Turkey, at the behest of President Erdoğan. He further mentioned that a promise was received regarding the purchase of five F-35 fighter jets and that he has no concerns about Turkey obtaining these aircraft.
