EU’s Kallas: US-Iran Exchanges Complicate Peace Talks

The European Union’s top diplomat, Kaja Kallas, stated on Wednesday that renewed escalations between the United States and Iran are making already difficult negotiations to end the conflict even more complex. She also condemned Iran’s actions against Bahrain and Kuwait as unacceptable.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s foreign policy chief, announced on Wednesday that the renewed escalation of tensions between the United States and Iran could complicate negotiations to end the war.

In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Kallas wrote, “The exchange of fire between the United States and Iran has made the negotiations, which were already difficult, more complex than ever to end the war.”

She continued, without referencing U.S. attacks on Iran, asserting, “Iran’s attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait are unacceptable.”

Kallas also announced an upcoming meeting on Monday between EU foreign ministers and their counterparts from the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council countries concerning the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea.
