Drone Attack Targets US-Affiliated Oil Tanker in Black Sea

A drone strike has targeted an oil tanker affiliated with the U.S. company Chevron in the Black Sea, off the coast of Russia, according to reports.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, sources have reported a drone attack on an oil tanker off the Russian coast in the Black Sea. The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 8th, when the tanker ‘Yasa Polaris’, used for transporting oil via the Caspian Pipeline Consortium and belonging to the American company Chevron, was struck by a drone while en route to the consortium’s loading facilities near the Russian port of Novorossiysk.

Chevron confirmed in an official statement that all crew members are safe, the tanker remains stable, and is proceeding to a secure port. The company is coordinating with the ship’s operator and relevant authorities and has emphasized that the incident has had no impact on Chevron’s operations in Kazakhstan or the country’s oil exports.
