Trump Hints at Removing Syria from Terrorist List, Cites Hezbollah Cooperation Potential

U.S. President Donald Trump indicated a potential removal of Syria from the list of state sponsors of terrorism, suggesting Damascus could assist Washington on the issue of Hezbollah in Lebanon.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that Syria might be removed from the list of countries supporting terrorism. Speaking to reporters in Ankara following a NATO summit, Trump suggested that Syria could aid the United States in matters concerning Hezbollah in Lebanon.

President Trump also commented on Turkey’s alliance with NATO, noting that despite any personal relations between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Turkey remains a member of the alliance.

Acknowledging Washington’s support for the sole nuclear-armed state in West Asia, Trump stated that the U.S. has been working closely with Prime Minister Netanyahu and has achieved significant accomplishments together. He asserted that without his presidency, Israel might no longer exist.

In remarks that appeared to address domestic economic concerns exacerbated by U.S. economic actions against Iran and instability in the strategic West Asia region, Trump reiterated his claims of substantial progress concerning Iran. He alleged the destruction of Tehran’s military capabilities.

Trump further claimed that the U.S. has identified the precise locations of nuclear materials buried in mountainous areas and possesses the necessary equipment to extract them from Iran.

Expressing frustration over unmet objectives and in response to Iran’s missile and defense capabilities, the American official threatened to destroy Iran’s power plants and water facilities if deemed necessary.
