Lebanese President Emphasizes Negotiation with Israel Amidst Ongoing Conflict

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun stated his commitment to negotiation as a path forward, asserting that he cannot remain a bystander while his country is pushed toward a precipice for another nation’s interests, particularly amid continued Israeli aggression.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has declared his preference for negotiation, stating that he cannot stand by while his country is being led toward disaster for the interests of another nation. Aoun emphasized the necessity of taking action to halt Israel’s destruction and alleged genocide, put an end to the killing of Lebanese citizens and the demolition of villages, and ultimately achieve an end to the occupation.

He claimed that his stance has garnered support from a majority of Lebanese people, including Shiites, who have borne the brunt of the conflict in the south. The President expressed his anticipation of positive outcomes from his upcoming visit to Washington and his meeting with Donald Trump, viewing the trip as a reflection of unprecedented U.S. attention to Lebanon and its support for finding a lasting solution to Israeli aggressions and establishing peace throughout the Middle East.

This position comes as the Israeli regime continues its attacks and destruction in southern Lebanon.
