Amnesty International Investigates Israeli Attacks in Southern Lebanon as Potential War Crimes

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Amnesty International has called for an investigation into three Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon that occurred in March, resulting in the deaths of 24 civilians. The organization stated that these attacks, which claimed the lives of 24 civilians including 12 children and wiped out entire families, should be investigated as war crimes.

Amnesty International reported that the strikes targeted residential homes in the cities of Tyre and Nabatieh, and the village of Arkis near Sidon, between March 6 and March 13. This development comes as statements from Israeli leaders suggest the regime is seeking to continue its occupation in southern Lebanon, contrary to its commitments under a framework agreement and in contradiction with assurances from the United States during negotiations with Iran.

Israeli media, quoting Israeli War Minister Israel Katz, responded to remarks by Donald Trump suggesting Israel would withdraw from Lebanon. They stated, “We did not seek permission from anyone to enter Lebanon, and we do not need anyone’s permission to remain in Lebanon.”
