Russia Accuses European Trio of Encouraging US and Israeli Attacks on Iran

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia‘s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations has stated that Britain, France, and Germany encouraged and supported attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran’s civilian infrastructure. Anna Estigeieva, speaking at an emergency session of the UN Security Council, condemned what she described as the hypocrisy of Western countries that criticize Iran while overlooking the actions of the US and Israel.
The Russian diplomat emphasized her disappointment that a majority of Security Council members continue to ignore and align with efforts by some nations to question objective realities and existing principles and procedures. She further clarified that any attempt to suggest the activation of the “trigger mechanism” is legally baseless, as Resolution 2231 expired on October 18, 2025, and the Security Council has ceased addressing Iran’s nuclear case.
Estigeieva continued, stating that the issue of Iran’s nuclear program is no longer on the Security Council’s agenda. Holding a session on a matter removed from the agenda is pursued solely for political motivations. Russia urged Security Council members to vote against the agenda of this session and prevent the erosion of the Council’s credibility. Russia firmly rejects any unjustified attempts to escalate tensions concerning Iran and the use of the Security Council for political scores with Tehran.
The United Nations Security Council convened today, Friday, to review Iran’s nuclear program under the agenda item of preventing nuclear proliferation. The session, requested by Bahrain and five European countries, witnessed significant divergence of opinion among members regarding Iran’s nuclear activities.
