Iranian Martyr Leader Honored in Sao Paulo
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a commemoration ceremony for the memory of the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran was held at the Islamic Center of Brazil in Sao Paulo. The event was attended by prominent figures, scholars, representatives of political parties, media personalities, and a diverse group of Muslims and non-Muslims of Iranian, Iraqi, Lebanese, Afghan, Kashmiri, and Brazilian nationalities, including Christians, Jews, and various ethnic groups.
Thiago Avila, a media activist and member of the ‘Qafeleh Samoud’ (Caravan of Steadfastness), spoke about the history, position, and importance of the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution, detailing the impact of his messages and letters to Western youth in recent years. Avila has been detained three times in Gaza, in the occupied Palestinian territories, by the occupying regime.
Bruno Altman, a well-known Brazilian writer and journalist of Jewish descent, emphasized the martyred leader’s crucial role in the fight against global imperialism and the hegemony system. He expressed solidarity with Muslims and the Iranian nation, stating that the leader’s martyrdom is not only a loss for Iran but a shared pain for all fighters, freedom seekers, and truth claimants worldwide, a reality that must be conveyed to the global community.
Hojatoleslam wal-Muslimin Sheikh Hussein Khalilu pointed to the presence of millions at the funeral procession for the martyred leader of the Revolution, identifying this turnout as a sign of his unparalleled popularity. He added that if similar funeral ceremonies were held in other cities around the world, millions of his admirers would have participated.
Fatemeh Sheyto discussed the high status of a martyr in Islam, stressing the even deeper and broader impact of the martyr’s message in the world after their passing.
A segment of the program included the screening of a short video about the life of the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution, produced by Al-Resalah Institute.
Two books were also unveiled: ‘The Islamic Revolution of Iran, 40 Years Later,’ compiled based on the Second Step of the Revolution statement, and ‘Statements of the Martyred Leader on Hazrat Maryam (PBUH) and Hazrat Isa (PBUH),’ published in Portuguese.
An exhibition of selected photographs and images from the funeral and mourning ceremonies of the martyred leader of the Revolution at the Tehran Musalla was also held on the sidelines of the event. These works, prepared and sent by Arefe Fathi Akbari, were well-received by attendees.
The ceremony concluded with a symbolic funeral procession of the pure body of the Imam and martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, mourning and elegizing in remembrance of the Master of Martyrs, Hazrat Aba Abdillah Al-Hussein (PBUH), and mourning the martyrdom of Imam Sajjad (PBUH), with chanting by Hojatoleslam wal-Muslimin Sheikh Taleb Khazraji.
