Iran Denounces U.S. Centcom Claims as Baseless Amidst Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Central Command (Centcom) commander, Brad Cooper, alleged on Tuesday that Iran had deliberately targeted seven commercial ships in the past seven days, resulting in the casualties of approximately a dozen civilian crew members. These claims were published by Al Jazeera, citing Mehr News Agency.
Simultaneously with announcing a new wave of attacks against Iran, the American military official also declared the reinstatement of a maritime blockade on Iranian ports, reportedly ordered directly by U.S. President Donald Trump. Analysts interpret this move as a desperate attempt to compensate for battlefield setbacks.
However, even Western media outlets have acknowledged that the U.S. military faces significant technical and operational challenges in implementing such a blockade, noting that previous attempts were unsuccessful. The war-mongering U.S. administration, by violating the Islamabad agreement and reigniting conflicts, is jeopardizing the security of international trade.
The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran have consistently emphasized that regional security is a red line. Provocative actions by the enemy will elicit strong and defensive responses from the country’s forces. They also stressed that Washington’s empty threats will not undermine the resolve of the nation and its armed forces to defend national sovereignty.
