Iran Controls Strait of Hormuz, Haaretz Reports Amid Regional Tensions

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz has reported that despite declarations from U.S. President Donald Trump, it is Iran that ultimately controls maritime traffic and sets the terms for passage through the Strait of Hormuz amidst heightened regional tensions.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Hebrew-language newspaper Haaretz has reported that while U.S. President Donald Trump had previously stated his intention to open the Strait of Hormuz, it is in fact Iran that dictates the terms of engagement in the vital waterway.
Amidst escalating regional tensions, the U.S. President had repeatedly claimed that vessels could freely transit the Strait of Hormuz, even proposing unfeasible plans such as escorting them with American military personnel. However, the Islamic Republic of Iran, by asserting its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz and designating safe passage routes, is effectively guiding ship traffic in directions aligned with its own strategic objectives.
