Iraqi President Emphasizes De-escalation in Regional Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid received a phone call from European Council President Charles Michel. During the call, discussions revolved around the current political and security developments in the region.
President Rashid underscored Iraq’s dedication to strengthening its relationships with European countries and their institutions. He emphasized expanding cooperation in political and economic spheres, as well as in investment, development, and coordinated efforts to address shared challenges.
The Iraqi President further highlighted the necessity of intensifying international endeavors to reduce regional tensions. He advocated for dialogue and diplomatic tools to manage crises, thereby fostering security and stability and shielding the region’s peoples from conflict and unrest.
For his part, the President of the European Council affirmed the Union’s interest in broadening prospects for joint cooperation to achieve sustainable development and bolster international security and peace.
