Russia Warns of Wider Consequences if Military Action Against Iran Continues

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has cautioned that military actions targeting Iran could extend their repercussions to the Red Sea, impacting global trade and shipping.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Moscow is in communication with all parties involved in the Persian Gulf crisis, urging them to reach an immediate ceasefire.

Lavrov added that Russia is working towards establishing a railway line connecting Iran, Azerbaijan, and Russia, aiming to mitigate tensions in maritime corridors. He emphasized that the ongoing crisis in the Strait of Hormuz negatively affects ship movements, international transport, and the global economy.

The Russian Foreign Minister stressed the desire for a ceasefire and a return to pre-war conditions in the Strait of Hormuz. He warned that continued military operations against Iran would result in the expansion of its consequences to the Red Sea, leading to a worse situation not only for oil transport but for global commerce as well.

Lavrov also commented on Israel’s actions, stating that Israel behaves with a logic of imposing its demands in southern Lebanon and Syria. He further noted that Israel’s actions in the West Bank make the two-state solution and the establishment of a Palestinian state appear impossible.
