Lebanese President Aoun Departs for Washington Amid Security Talks

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun departed Beirut this morning for Washington D.C. The visit by Aoun to the United States is at the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump.
A meeting is scheduled between President Aoun and U.S. officials at the White House, where he will consult with several American officials on matters concerning Lebanon, including ways to solidify a ceasefire and restore security and stability to the country.
The withdrawal of the Zionist regime from occupied areas of Lebanon and the expansion of governmental sovereignty over the entire country are among other topics to be addressed in President Aoun’s meetings in the United States.
This comes as the signing of a controversial agreement by the Western-aligned Lebanese government with the Zionist regime, under the auspices and with the support of the United States, has yielded no tangible results for Lebanon, particularly in halting the aggressor’s attacks.
