Maritime Incident Reported Off UAE Coast; Vessel Suffers Damage
A security incident has occurred in waters near the coast of the United Arab Emirates, with a vessel reporting it was struck by an unknown projectile that damaged its steering system.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) announced on Monday that a security incident took place in waters close to the UAE coast.
The UKMTO reported receiving an alert regarding an incident approximately 17 nautical miles east of Dibba, UAE. The commander of a vessel stated that their ship was hit by an unidentified projectile, which resulted in damage to the vessel’s steering system.
Reports indicate that the crew is safe and the incident has had no environmental repercussions. Authorities are currently investigating the matter.
