US Military Grapples with Unprecedented War Dissatisfaction Amidst Iran Conflict

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Tehran Times newspaper has reported a notable increase in discontent across various levels of the U.S. military as the American-imposed war against Iran enters a new phase. Multiple intelligence and military sources close to the Pentagon suggest that U.S. forces are showing an unprecedented refusal to follow orders from superiors.

A considerable number of soldiers, mid-level personnel, and even some senior officers reportedly believe the war against Iran lacks any national security basis or justification. They view it as an unlawful conflict initiated and sustained by President Trump to appease Israel.

In a directive dated Wednesday, July 15, U.S. Secretary of War Hagest instructed General Brad Cooper, the commander of CENTCOM (U.S. Central Command for West Asia), that any expression of opposition to the continuation of the war at any level must be met with immediate and decisive action from the Army’s Inspector General’s office.

Since the beginning of July alone, 158 individuals across different ranks have faced administrative, disciplinary, or punitive measures for refusing to execute orders or openly opposing the war. According to a report by The New Yorker magazine, at least 34 of these 158 individuals are facing prison sentences ranging from three to fourteen months.
