Iraqi Prime Minister’s Office Denies New York Times Report on Mediation Efforts
The office of the Iraqi Prime Minister has strongly refuted claims made by The New York Times regarding Baghdad’s alleged attempts to mediate between Tehran and Washington, asserting that the report’s allegations are baseless and disconnected from reality.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, The office of the Iraqi Prime Minister has issued a statement emphasizing that claims published in The New York Times regarding Baghdad’s desire to mediate between Tehran and Washington are entirely unfounded and have no basis in fact.
The New York Times report had alleged that Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi delivered a new ceasefire proposal from United States President Donald Trump to Iranian officials during a visit to Tehran.
The American newspaper further claimed that Trump’s proposal had been rejected by Tehran.
The Iraqi Prime Minister visited Tehran yesterday, Thursday, where he met with senior Iranian officials to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments.
