Yemen: Bab al-Mandab Strait Remains Open, Maritime Blockade Targets Saudi Arabia Exclusively

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Mohammed Abd al-Salam, head of Yemen‘s negotiating delegation, emphasized that the Bab al-Mandab Strait is not closed, despite assertions made by some parties. He further stated that Yemen’s stance has been clearly communicated by the nation’s armed forces, defining the maritime blockade as a reciprocal measure against Saudi Arabia’s siege of Yemen.
Abd al-Salam pointed out that this action is occurring within a context where Saudi Arabia has opposed any measures aimed at resolving the crisis, particularly those that would consider the security, sovereignty, and independence of the Yemeni people. The maritime blockade is specifically directed at Saudi Arabia in response to Yemen’s own encirclement.
