Hamas Reaffirms Commitment to Gaza Peace Plan Amidst Netanyahu’s Rejection
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hamas on Sunday issued a press statement affirming its commitment to agreements reached with mediators and the “Peace Council” regarding a roadmap for the full implementation of the second phase of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
The movement once again declared its seriousness in responsibly participating in the execution of the fifteen agreed-upon points and called for a specific timeline to be established for their implementation.
The statement emphasized that the priority in this phase should be guaranteeing the complete fulfillment of the agreement, including all its stages and requirements. This would lead to a full ceasefire, an end to hostilities against the Palestinian people, the complete withdrawal of the occupying forces, the opening of crossings, the delivery of aid and necessities for the displaced, the commencement of reconstruction, and the empowerment of the national committee to fully carry out its duties in the Gaza Strip.
Hamas urged mediators, guarantors, and Trump’s Peace Council for Gaza to assume their responsibilities, ensure all parties adhere to the agreed-upon commitments, and prevent any violations or breaches that could disrupt the implementation process or undermine the ceasefire agreement.
The movement concluded its statement by emphasizing that it will continue to approach the efforts for the full implementation of the agreement with a positive and responsible outlook, aiming to end the suffering of its people and preserve their national rights and interests.
Notably, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Sunday that the Israeli regime does not accept the 15-point document presented by the “Peace Council” concerning the Gaza Strip and will not carry out any withdrawal before the so-called genuine disarmament of Hamas. The Israeli regime is reportedly angered by the recent announced agreement regarding Gaza and the initiation of the second phase of ceasefire implementation.
