US Arms Stockpile Reduction Limits Washington’s Options Against Iran

A significant reduction in United States missile and missile defense system stockpiles is raising concerns within the U.S. military, potentially impacting Washington’s strategic options, particularly concerning Iran.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, data published by Mehr News Agency, quoting Al Jazeera, indicates that Cyrus Shayegh, a professor of history and international politics at the Graduate Institute of Geneva, has stated that the United States‘ stockpiles of missiles and missile defense systems have decreased considerably.

Shayegh explained that this reduction in reserves has become a significant concern for the U.S. military, given the necessity of maintaining sufficient capability to counter threats and challenges extending beyond the West Asia region.

He added that Washington’s strategic calculations also encompass East Asia, and the status of American military reserves could influence the country’s options in the event of a renewed escalation of tensions with Iran.
