Libyan Military Intelligence Chief Assassinated in Benghazi Bombing
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, based on data published by the Mehr News Agency quoting Reuters, officials in eastern Libya announced that Fawzi Al-Mansouri, commander of the military intelligence service in the region, was assassinated in the city of Benghazi by a car bomb explosion.
Media sources in eastern Libya released images of a vehicle catching fire in the Al-Hawari district of Benghazi, reportedly at the scene of the incident.
Security sources in Libya have not provided any explanation regarding the perpetrators of this assassination or further details about the type of explosive device used in the operation. Earlier, Libyan media outlets, citing security sources, reported the explosion of a car bomb near the Aisha Mosque in Benghazi, identifying Al-Mansouri as the driver of the vehicle.
Al-Mansouri was appointed as the director of the military intelligence service in Benghazi in 2024 and was simultaneously promoted to the rank of Major General.
