Trump Acknowledges US Ammunition Shortage, Blames Biden

Donald Trump, who in recent weeks had dismissed media reports of declining U.S. weapons reserves as “fake,” has now admitted that Washington’s arsenal has decreased. However, he has once again pointed fingers at Joe Biden for the situation.

“We don’t have a problem with ammunition, but the reason it’s lower is because Biden gave $300 billion to Ukraine! When I left, the warehouses were full. He emptied the warehouses and didn’t replace them. Now, we are replacing them,” Trump stated.

Trump also reiterated his criticisms against Iran.

Trump’s implicit acknowledgment of a reduction in U.S. ammunition comes after he previously claimed to possess “a massive amount of ammunition.” He had described media reports about dwindling military reserves as “treasonous” and had threatened prosecution and lengthy prison sentences for those who leaked such information.

Media outlets, including CNN and The New York Times, had revealed in recent weeks that the United States had lost a significant portion of its weapons stockpiles due to the conflict in Iran. CNN reported that the U.S. military had expended approximately 80 percent of its THAAD interceptor missiles and half of its Patriot missile interceptors in the conflict against Iran. Earlier, the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) had stated in early August that U.S. Patriot missile stockpiles had dwindled to just 800 missiles.

This is significant considering that these systems typically require two to three missiles to intercept each incoming projectile. Consequently, with the current Patriot missile reserves, the United States would only be capable of intercepting a maximum of 400 additional missiles worldwide.
