Alavi Holy Shrine Prepares for 28 Safar Pilgrims
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, based on data released by Al-Sabah newspaper, citing Al-Sabaah, in anticipation of the anniversary of the passing of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the Alavi Holy Shrine has begun implementing its comprehensive organization and service plan. This initiative is being carried out in cooperation with local officials and the service and health authorities of Najaf Ashraf province. Since the morning of Monday, mourners have been proceeding towards the shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) from three main routes: the eastern route from Kufa to Najaf, the southern route from Al-Mandhira to the provincial center, and the northern route from the Karbala road to Najaf.
Haidar Rahim, the media official for the Alavi Holy Shrine, announced that 250 service caravans are providing direct relief in the old city and around the shrine. Basic food supplies, ice blocks, and drinking water are being distributed among them. He added that the guesthouses of the Alavi Endowment and the pilgrim accommodation centers at the city entrances have increased their capacity to distribute tens of thousands of hot meals daily.
Meanwhile, Haidar Gaboon Al-Salami, the director of the Million Visits and Rituals department of the Najaf Governorate, reported the official registration of 713 mourning caravans to date. He stated that these caravans are primarily located along two main axes, from the Thawra Al-Ishreen bridges to the shrine and the area known as the Najaf Cemetery to the holy courtyard. They are providing services and holding mourning ceremonies and nightly gatherings.
Zain Al-Abidin Al-Asadi, the Director-General of Health for Najaf Ashraf province, highlighted the health and treatment plans, noting the deployment of 108 ambulances from the Najaf health fleet, the Popular Mobilization Forces, the Alavi Endowment, reinforcements from Baghdad, and the airport. Additionally, 44 fixed and mobile health stations have been set up along the routes. All hospitals and medical centers in the province are on high alert, and health monitoring teams are working around the clock to ensure the quality of food and drinking water provided by the caravans.
Concurrently, the Iraqi News Agency reported that in preparation for this occasion, the walls, porticos, and various sections of the Alavi Holy Shrine have been covered with black cloths and flags. Mourning banners and signs have been erected at different points within the holy shrine. This action is being undertaken to express devotion and grief marking the sorrowful anniversary of the passing of the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him).
