Netanyahu Declares Golan Heights ‘Israeli Forever’

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asserted on Tuesday that the Golan Heights will remain Israeli territory permanently, citing security concerns and historical claims. This declaration follows Colombia’s recent recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the occupied Syrian territory, a move condemned by the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared on Tuesday that the continued occupation of Syrian Golan and new areas within the territory is crucial for the security of the Israeli regime. He expressed gratitude to the President of Colombia for recognizing the Israeli regime’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights, claiming the region is vital for Israel’s security.

“Golan is our land and will remain Israeli forever. The flag of Israel is raised here and will remain raised because this is our land,” Netanyahu asserted. He further claimed that Israel has roots in the Golan Heights dating back to the time of Moses and that dozens of synagogues are being rebuilt there, stating that the territory has returned to Israeli sovereignty and will remain so.

Netanyahu highlighted the recognition of Israeli sovereignty by President Trump during his first term and noted Colombia’s subsequent recognition. These statements come after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Syrian government officially condemned Colombia’s decision to recognize the Israeli regime’s sovereignty over the occupied Golan Heights.

The Israeli regime has occupied the region, establishing bases, infrastructure, and settlements. Despite the United Nations recognizing the Golan Heights as part of Syrian territory, Donald Trump, during his first term as President, recognized it as part of the occupying regime’s territory. Following the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s government, the Israeli army occupied new parts of Syrian territory as part of its expansionist and occupationist agenda, advancing several kilometers towards Damascus province and capturing strategic heights such as Mount Hermon, deploying its forces in the area.
