Japan Protests North Korea’s Ballistic Missile Launch

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, on Tuesday, Japanese Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi announced that Tokyo has conveyed its protest to North Korea via diplomatic channels regarding the launch of a ballistic missile. He characterized the action as a “violation of Security Council resolutions” and emphasized that Japan is collaborating with the United States and South Korea to analyze information pertaining to the launch. According to the Japanese Defense Minister’s statements, the ballistic missile landed in the waters of the Sea of Japan, outside of the country’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). Koizumi did not provide further details on the missile’s range or altitude, stating only that technical assessments are ongoing. This incident follows earlier reports from South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency, citing military sources in Seoul, which indicated that North Korean forces had fired a ballistic missile eastward early Wednesday morning.
